The Humboldt Int’l Film Fest (HIFF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1967 by a group of film-loving Humboldt State University students. HIFF promotes the art of film, both as a means of entertainment, a vehicle for self-expression, and a stimulus for dialogue about social, political, and cultural issues. We receive around 200 film entries from all over the world. This year marks our 54th annual event and will be held during the dates of April 19th -25th, 2021 at the Minor Theatre in Arcata (April 19th - April 21st) and Virtually for viewers all around the world.

Now that you know who we are, this is where your help comes in. This year your donations are helping us prepare for a future proof film festival. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Film Festivals around the world have transitioned to online platforms to be able to hold their events for their valued patrons. Leading up to the Film Festival this year we have conducted several Virtual Film Nights to bring the community closer with films that highlight Wellness and Self Care as well as films that support the Black Lives Matter Movement and Social Justice Issues. So, with your donations, we look to not only use them to deliver the 54th Humboldt Int’l Film Festival but continue to build our place in the local community with Virtual Film Nights.
