Why give?

The Humboldt International Film Fest (HIFF) was founded in 1967 by a group of film-loving Humboldt students.  With the Humboldt International Film Festival being student-run, our festival’s success depends on the donations and support of our community to keep the festival going for years to come.  Your donation will help future-proof the film festival as well as continue developing in-person and virtual film events that bring the local and global community closer with films that highlight the vision and values of our fest: to promote the art of film, not only as a means of entertainment but also as a vehicle for self-expression and a stimulus for dialogue about social, political and cultural issues.

Giving FAQs

  • Reservation of our venue, cash prizes for awards, printing costs, merchandise, wages for the co-directors, travel and stay expenses for guest judges, and a stipend for the poster graphic designer are just some of the costs of making a great film festival happen. Your donation would cover these annual expenses.

  • Yes! When you click on the link to donate, at the top of the form you will see a button to select “Recurring Donation.” You can then select how often you want these donations to occur. We deeply appreciate your generosity!

  • Yes! Donations will be processed by the Foundation who will send a thank you letter including a notice of tax benefits for donating.
